With over 25 years of experience in education, youth work, college access, mentoring and after school programming, Dr. Arzumanian brings a wealth of experience and research in clarifying problems and delivering solutions. Some of his career highlights include:
- Under his leadership the USC College Advising Corps has directly assisted over 70,000 students to enroll in college.
- As Vice President of Programs for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles he oversaw several programs and managed mentoring for over 1,500 matches.
- At BBBSGLA he developed a new corporate partnership model with Union Bank winning the National Rising Star Award.
- Published The Male College Graduation Crisis and What Institutions of Higher Education Are Doing About It.
- Earned his doctorate in Education from USC.
- Earned the USC Rossier School of Education Staff Recognition Award “for creating a culture of community.”
- Was a fellow of the Los Angeles Scholars Investment Fund Young Men of Color 2019,
- Was awarded USC’s Order of Arete medal for “excellence in leadership and community service."
- As the director of GenNext Mentorship Program, Ara assembled the team that grew the program five times in size and increased its services to students with the award of a prestigious US Department of Education Grant.
- Has directly written or collaborated in writing grants totaling several millions.
- Has directly sealed service agreements totaling several millions.

- Member of the Glendale Unified School District’s Student Attendance Review Board
- Member of the violence prevention committees of five schools.
- Member of the 3-person team that developed the City of Glendale's Youth Outreach Program from the ground up, providing intensive case management to 1,800+ students facing high risk factors.
- Due to his experience and expertise in the field of youth development, he has been invited to guest lecture at USC, UCLA, CSUN and CSULA and various conferences on youth development and challenges facing America’s youth.
